The Sea People

This is a highly collectible 1982 children's hardcover book by Swiss author Jörg Steiner and illustrator Jörg Müller.

 It is a beautifully illustrated fable about two neighbouring islands and their contrasting ways of life, exploring themes of colonialism, consumerism, and greed. 

 The English edition was released by Victor Gollancz Ltd. The book has been out of print for years, making it a rare collector's item today.
