Japanese Cold Painted 1950s Donkey Statuette

It's a donkey. Ok it's more than just a donkey, it's a Japanese 1950's cold painted figurine made for the export market post WW2. Unfortunately cold paining does suffer from rubbing as it is over the glaze and not under it. (I get the feeling the donkey from Shrek is based on this style lol ... or perhaps not). For those that collect Japanese statuettes this one is a must for your collection.
