What we have on offer is an H&K Tunstall ceramic jug that was made by Hollinshead & Kirkham, a pottery company from Staffordshire, England. The jug has beautiful pink and purple hand-painted designs of pansies.
The pansy pattern is one of the fourteen designs that were created by Harold Growcott, a designer who joined the company in the 1920s. These designs were known as the “Delicious Dozen”, although there were actually fourteen different pattern designs. The pansy jug is a rare and collectible item that reflects the artistic style of the Art Deco period.
Often described as the poor man's Moorcroft, H&K Tunstall pottery is just as enigmatic in its own right! Snap it up while it lasts!
With some very mild glaze craze, she must have sat in someone's display cupboard for a very long time. But as per usual:
